The Big Sur Lodge Restaurant sits just inside the Big Sur Lodge and has a very nice outside patio deck wrapped around tall redwood and oak trees and right next to the Big Sur River just feet away from your table.
Dining options at this restaurant are surprisingly plentiful for it's location inside a state park.
Reviews have always varied depending on management at the time, but even if the food is just OK, the settings is worth it, especially if you are camping just within the parks boundaries 50 yards away.
The last time I was here, the management set out large wooden chairs so guests could take off their shoes and dangle their feet. Many bring a beer or other beverage and just relax the afternoon away while their toes are massaged by the fast moving stream.
My recommendation would be to consider the convenience of this location and try their breakfast menu. The Big Sur Breakfast Trail Head platter at $11.75 will get you going and satisfy you for all your hiking or other days activities.

Traveling south on Highway 1, slow down as you enter the village of Big Sur and watch for the Pfeiffer Big Sur park sign on the left. The parking lot for the lodge after you enter, is just to your right and there is usually plenty of parking.
